"God made the cat to give man the pleasure of petting the tiger."

~~Fernand Mery~~

This painting so captivates me that I can hardly tear my eyes away from it. Normally, I like to do my own graphics for my website, but every now and then I find one by another artist that is so beautiful that I just have to use it.

Needless to say, I'm not quite as exotic as this catlady, but the picture speaks to my heart, so I have adopted it.

When I first started my website, it was all about ways to stop animal abuse and neglect. After awhile, I found that I was doing nothing but crying all day long over the horrible stories that would come to my attention, so I started venturing out and trying to have a little fun to lighten things up a bit.

My kitties soon steered me to various clubs and meeting places and soon we were thoroughly enjoying ourselves. I try to keep a balance between having fun with the kitties and helping them to support various animal welfare causes.

'Come to me not as "alpha" or as "owner" or even "Mom or Dad," come to me as a living soul and stroke my fur and let us look deep into one another's eyes, and talk. I may tell you something about the fun of batting toys, or I may tell you something profound about myself, or even life in general.

You decided to have me in your life because you wanted a soul to share such things with. Someone very different from you, and here I am.

I am a cat, but I am alive. I feel emotion, I feel physical senses, and I can revel in the differences of our spirits and souls. I do not think of you as a "Cat on two feet" -- I know what you are. You are human, in all your quirkiness, and I love you still.'

I found this on a scrap of paper - something I hurriedly copied down one day. I have no idea who wrote this, but would like to give credit. If you recognize it, please email me. Thank you.

Our Purpose

The kitties and I have tried to keep our site entertaining, and yet be informative on some very important issues. We actively promote and support animal welfare, shelter adoption, spay and neuter, and feral cat care and management.

We have a deep desire to see an end to animal suffering due to abuse, neglect, cruelty and homelessness. It is our hope that by adding our voices to the others that are fighting the battle to end cruelty and abuse to animals, that the day will come when the many websites focusing on these issues will be unnecessary.

I pray for the day that we can all spend our energies and talents in celebrating God's Creatures rather than fighting to protect them.
